Life is a Gym

Life is a classroom, this we know. But I'd say life is a gym as well. Showing up day after day, even when we don't want to, we exercise muscles to stay in shape, to be made stronger. The gym doesn't teach us something new, it provides opportunity to practice what we know.

My life has had me in the gym these past (too) many months. God has been strengthening what's already been there by having me exercise a deeper faith in the face of impossibility. He's been toning my trust in His character in the face of weighty circumstances. He's been developing perseverance as I run long distances toward a finish line I cannot see.

hate the gym. But I don't hate what the gym produces. And so I show up, day after day, in the face of pain, being pushed beyond what I think I can bear, guzzling gallons of Living Water as I go. The gym won't last forever, but the evidences of the gym will!

Whether life has you in a classroom or a gym, keep going. God is at work for your good and His glory. You don't want to miss that!
