Hunky Legs & Cardboard Space Shuttles

Sometimes in summer when I was growing up, me and my brother would get tired of swimming in grama's pool or tired of being at the family business office and so we'd stay home alone. During those hours together we perfected the bridge with a deck of cards, discovered how hunky his legs looked in my Sunday tights, picked on each other incessantly, played bank teller with mom's tupperware, and turned large cardboard boxes into space shuttles. The days would seem to take forever, but we were in it together so it was okay.

His wit and peanut gallery commentary will have you rolling one minute and his sparkly blue eyes and dimple framed grin will be charming you the next. He's a pesky brother turned friend, successful athlete turned small business owner, party animal turned family man, and beloved son turned godly man.

Our lives, my life, wouldn't be the same without my little brother. We may not reach for the stars within our cardboard shuttle together anymore, but we can know we aren't alone as we walk this life together, shining like stars in the world around us!

Happy Birthday, Nic. You are kind of a big deal! Thanks for outgrowing the pesky phase! I hope you are made to feel like a superhero today! You are that and so much more to all those who know you! I love you!
