Why Have Community?

We shine brighter together. Sounds kinda cheesy and cliche, right? Something, if I'm honest, I would usually mock! But truth is truth -- ain't that the truth?! We all know how light is better when it's big (hello sunshine -- you're my favorite!). When I was watching my men playing with sparklers at a recent wedding, the truth became tangible to me again.

Whether Christian or not, sharing life with others brings greater impact, more overcoming of struggles, greater confidence and greater opportunity to have each other's backs. If together is really better than why do we, why do I, still choose to go solo so often? In all reality, the easier and "safer" factors make going it alone pretty appealing most of the time. There's also the fact that people struggle with reliability (I heard that amen!). But together is better.

I seem kind of stuck on this whole community topic this week, but it's on my heart and I'm working through that mess! SOOO I'm wanting to have a conversation with you guys. gasp: you mean there's a call to get brave and comment to join the conversation? Yes -- get wild and crazy! You know you want to!

What is your natural bent -- lone ranger or in the crowd? What do you think is crucial for a healthy community to exist? Do you think it's possible to have healthy community? What are your favorite parts of living in community?
